Natures Aid 100% MCT Oil is extracted from coconuts through a process called fractionation. This is a chemical-free steam distillation process that extracts chemically untreated, 100% pure and natural coconut oil with no odor or color. Extracting coconut oil this way makes it different from standard coconut oil because the long-chain fatty acids are removed during the fractionation process. MCT medium-chain triglycerides are absorbed very quickly by the body without the need for additional enzyme participation, making them the fastest source of energy. They provide twice as much energy (8.3 Kcal/g) compared to carbohydrates and proteins (4 Kcal/g), increasing thermogenesis in the body, and hence the burning of subcutaneous fat. Due to their rapid burning and half the oxygen requirement for oxidation, compared to other fats, they cannot be stored as subcutaneous fat. Their presence in the body improves the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, reduces the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood, thus normalizing the overall balance of cholesterol.
